MMMMMM...Cookies

Hello, my Love...

Okay, so I have one more post left in me today.  We made you cookies and you know how "fun" it can be to photograph J making cookies, or at least what he considers making cookies.  I like to consider it "making a mess" or "eating the product before it's done".  I guess it is a matter of opinion, though I don't think a 2 and a half year old's opinion often qualifies haha.

Anyway, J was actually pretty good this time around, though his orneryness was a bit out of control.  He did a great job stirring for me.  He did an even better job of eating the cookie dough.  Maybe he craves it because I would sneak it while I was pregnant with him.  But he was very excited that we were making cookies for his Daddy in "Anghanistan"!  What a ham.

We are hoping to finish up your box tomorrow so that it makes it in time for Father's Day and Baby J's arrival.  Lots of yummy food, so hopefully Major Johnson will be satisfied too!

By the way, is there any chance you would consider buying me the really good camera???  Just checking, though I think I know the answer.  I think I am ready to go all the way with the business end of it and we can write it off as a business expense...just sayin'...

Here we are getting ready for our mini adventure...

Lots of fun dealing with this while trying to get stuff mixed...

And we had to take a chocolate chip break because he kept trying to eat it from the mix.  I had to give him his own cup to keep his grubby, little paws out of there.  If you look closely, you can see chocolate on his fingers.  You will be happy to know that we had several hand washings during cookie making time!

Then, I set the camera down for a second, only to turn around and find that he had grabbed the STOLEN chopsticks from P.F. Chang's...don't try to deny that you took them.  He informed me that he wants to be a drummer, so now you have something to look forward to when you come home and he is old enough to start lessons!  Guess that is your punishment for stealing the chopsticks.

And I know this is blurry, but he was pretty sneaky about stealing that cookie dough.  Sheesh oh Pete!  Needless to say, he didn't eat much dinner, which made mama kind of upset until...

...I looked over and saw this adorable face looking at me.  How could I ever me mad at that???  Pure perfection in that little face!

And he was VERY happy to finally enjoy the fruits of his labor.  He looked at me and goes, "MMMM...I love cookies, Mommy.  Delicious!"  I need to record him saying "delicious" because it is the funniest thing I have ever heard.  Cracks me up every time he does it.

We love you lots and are excited to send your box.  I am more excited to do your box once Baby J arrives though!  I have lots planned for that one!  Hope you enjoyed our cookie adventure.  Wish you were here to eat them fresh out of the oven.  They turned out pretty great this time around.

LOVE YOU!!!  Hope church service is going well.  Praying for you, baby!

I Love Boxers...

Hey, my Love...

Last post for today, I think.  Don't you love my catchy title???  I do love Boxers...as in our neighbors' awesome dogs.  Seriously, if I wasn't allergic, that would probably be the type of dog we would get for J.  He loves Champ and Tessa like it's nobody's business, and so do I.  J gets so excited any time he hears them bark and always asks if we can go see Ms. Jennifer next door.  It cracks me up.  I love our neighbors!

The dogs have made this little hole under the fence in between our yards.  It is so funny.  They stick their cute, little faces underneath, and then J goes and lays on his belly so that he can "talk" with them.  It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Of course the cuteness wears off when J starts trying to give them his toys.  He came in the other day and informed me that he had given the dogs rubber duckies...well, this pregnant lady never waddled so fast to make sure those sweet little dogs did not choke on the ducks.  Thank goodness Jennifer was there to throw them back over.  Sweet moses...see, I am not an animal hater!

I am almost positive that this is Champ under the fence...and how about those Star Wars underwear???

Seriously glad that the Lord blessed us with great neighbors!

Love you more and more every day, baby.  Hope you are still sleeping and that the Lord blesses your day when you wake up.  We are so appreciative of what you are doing!

All My Love,

Jessica

Sunny Days...

Hello, my Love...

I love the USO.  They do a lot of awesome things for us!  In honor of Military Kids Month, they brought a Sesame Street show here on post.  It was corny of course, but still cute.  It talked about this little girl, whose dad was in the military, and their family had to move away.  I am not sure that J understood a single word of it, but he did like that Elmo was so close by.  Of course he was also pretty interested in the toy that they gave him at the door (which was a pretty awesome toy for being free), so I am not even sure that he listened at all.  He was able to see his friend, Mr. C and even get ice cream afterwards, though the need for a nap quickly interrupted all fun.

Do you like his new shirt?  It says, "Scram!", which he and Matty think is hilarious to say to each other.  Plus it is very fitting of his independent attitude right now.  I am afraid for the age of 3...just saying.

Not a lot of photos because I didn't think that you would love to sit and look at Muppets all day...and I am really sorry that your favorite, Prairie Dawn, did not make a special guest appearance for you!  HAHAHA!  Just teasing!

I am glad that they take the time to recognize our military kids.  I don't think people understand what they go through and it is not something that the kids get to choose either.  But we have so many great military kids that I am proud to know.  They are so resilient, thoughtful, and giving!  They don't have an easy life, but they make the best of it and I am thankful for their sacrifices too!  I know that J will be better because of it...though I am still praying he won't choose to join haha...just kidding.  Kind of.

Love you so much and we miss you!

Jessica

Ko'Olina

Hello, my Love...

I love Ko'Olina...as a matter of fact, it makes me want to stay in Hawaii, so you know that is saying a lot.  I love that even though your loser wife can't swim, that I can still get in the water and play with J, without fearing the worst.  Our little beach bum loves it too.  He saw me editing the photos and actually recalled the beach by name.  I am going to feel really bad when we have to move Germany or Alaska where the beach is no longer a possibility for the day.  I am afraid our child might disown us.

Needless to say, we had a great time.  You would have been proud of me.  I actually stayed in the water the entire time and played with J...and I didn't complain haha!  He swam, built sand castles, and buried my legs, which he thought was pretty funny.  What a nut.  Hopefully we will get a chance to go again before Baby J makes his appearance.

Hope you enjoy the photos.  Wish you could have been there...the beach is never as fun without you.

Our little Sand Monster...he is pretty serious when he plays...reminds me of his Daddy.

He did really great out there.  I think we are going to wait for you to do swim lessons though.

And this was as close as I could get to a smile...he was so tired out by the time we left!

And just for you...a photo I am actually in.  Thank Matty!

Hope you are sleeping well.  I have lots of people praying for you today!  You are loved and missed by so many, but I love and miss you the most, so don't forget it.  Talk to you soon, baby!

Jessica

Ummm...I'm Really Sorry

Hello, my Love...

I have been stricken with a case of extreme laziness and fatigue this past month.  But just so you know, I have not been neglecting our child haha!  What a little stinker he is and I know that he misses you terribly.  I am going to try to keep this short because there are so many photos for this post, and I still have 2 others to do tonight.  So let's get these photos going...

This is J eating Thai food...every time I ask him to take a photo for you, this is the face that I get.  I would say that he looks like you in this photo, but everyone would know that is a total lie.  Sometimes when I look at him, I feel really bad for our parents lol...On a happy note, he did LOVE the Thai food!

And since our kid is crazy, we try to frequent the park and let him run off steam.  What a nut...still having trouble with keeping hands to himself, but after watching some other parents, I think we are doing a pretty good job with him!

I bought J his first box of big boy crayons...not sure what I was thinking there.  I am sure that thoughts of things like "motor skills" and "pictures for Daddy" crossed my mind...but I don't think that there are enough magic erasers in the world to keep up with J haha...still fun though!

He was VERY serious while coloring in his Veggie Tales book, until I caught him looking like this...and what in the world was he laughing at???

This...nice.

And my favorite picture so far...he was so cute.  I had tried to make him nap and he wouldn't, so we took a late shower.  He looked at me in the shower and said, "Mommy, I need to sit for a minute."  He fell asleep in the shower haha.  So I took him out and then he fell asleep in his towel on our rug in front of the bed.  Thankfully, he was so tired that I was able to put a pull up on him without him moving.  So precious though.  Love him to bits!

And the last photos for this post are from a trip to the Pineapple Express...I am glad that little train is so close to our house.  We had such a fun day.  We went to the train, got his and Baby J's surfboard signs, ate at Pizza Bob's and got ice cream...Mr. J really made out.  It was nice to have a date with my little man before his little brother gets here.  Hoping we can do it again this weekend too.  The only thing that could make it better is if you were here with us.  As excited as I am for the baby, I am really going to miss it being just J and I.  You have no idea how appreciative I am that you have allowed me to stay home with him!

And he was so excited for the train, that this is the closest I could get to seeing his face haha...

Well that is it for now, but I have more coming!  I love you so much and miss you like crazy.  We both do.  I don't think deployment is going to be something that I ever get used to.  But, I am glad that we are where the Lord needs us to be.  Love you to the moon and back, times infinity!

All My Love,

Jessica
